There is nothing happen if you delete *.tmp files. If the tmp files was used of your running software or program, you can't delete them. The only things happen when you delete them is that. It makes free up space of your drive and that is good.

.tmp files are usually stored in the temp folder of windows directory.these files being used by their softwares.but some of these files only used at a single time the best method is follows
goto start
run
type %%temp%% click run
it opens the temp folder
select all the files
delete it
if some files are used by any programme it wouldn't delete
remove all except these ones.
you also remove some other temprorary files after typing
"prefetch" on run
look prefetch only run in winxp
i hope this one helps you

Nothing. You're supposed to delete them often anyway. If they build up, then your computer will tend to run slower. I'm not computer genius or anything, but I was told by one that it consist of files that are put on your computer by the different websites you visit.
I was told to erase the temporary file, the temp files, and cookies.

If you can not delete them try it on other time.

Usually nothing, but it depends what .tmp files they are. Run CCleaner...it's safe to delete anything it comes up with.

It's good practice to delete these files - they just take up space anyway. Run the Disk Cleanup utility that comes with Windows regularly.

What will happen? You won't be able to use them.
What happened? If you used the 'delete' command, then they disappear, but can be made to reappear if the hard drive space where they were hasn't been reused. But if you also 'wipped' them, then they are really gone.
