What's wrong with judging people based on their religious belief? Belief in god(s) is stupid. There is nothing wrong with saying so, and saying so does not entail 'spewing venom'... it merely entails speaking the truth.

People should not be judged based on skin color because there is nothing they can do about it, and it is not what defines them as a human being.

Religious belief is something that people DO have control over, and DOES define what kind of human being they are. If someone decides to base their world-view on the myths, superstitions, fairy tales and fantastical delusions of a tribe of ignorant Bronze Age fishermen and peripatetic goat herders, why should that be off-limits to criticism... particularly when they come here and wave their self-delusions and willful ignorance around like a battle flag, to the accompaniement of cries of "Come to Jesus or burn in hell?"

skin no,
sexual orientation no

personal philosophy, sure you can judge people by that. Its a choice to follow a cult, not to follow a cult, to worship ufos, or pray to rocks.

If you didn't judge people by philosophy you would wind up buried in a landfill by psychos.

I haven't been around long and I find the best category to find angry or really gross people is 'religion'.
I think it is to shock and be able to do it anonymously. They are really looking to push a believer over the edge, or trying to fight off what they know is truth but doesn't want to admit it.

Because it has. Some people don't like the fact that people are different. It's a fact of life that, sadly, some people just don't have the capacity to accept.

It's easy to hide behind a computer screen and say whatever you want, because no one can grab you and beat you.
