I would be available as a friend and let the relationship advance as fast as she is comfortable with. I'd be there to comfort her when she needs it, be there for support when she needs it. After all if she is the girl of my dreams and I'm looking at something long term it may be a slow process, especially if she is working through some issues. But if she's as important to me as you say it will be worth the wait. It's not just what she can do for me its what I can do for her and for now she seems to need a friend and support.
In short I'd be the best friend I know how.

That depends upon the circumstances. If your other relationship is really a past relationship then you just take it slow and be patient. If on the other hand it is dealing with a relationship that really isn't past at this point then you tell her she knows where to find you when she is ready for a relationship and you go on with your life because you can't wait for something that isn't going to happen for sure.

I have heard this from women a lot of times. But, honestly I don't get it. Either you are over your last relationship or you aren't. I have made the mistake of waiting on women before. It is always a mistake. Almost always, they are keeping you around in case they can't fix their old relationship. Almost always, they have excuses related to finances or family. Either you are ready for a new fellow or you are not. As for your question, I would date other people. If and when the woman decided to pursue things, I may be around or I may not. Life is too short to wait around on someone.

Wait, if she truly is the girl of my dreams. Actually, the time it takes to sort stuff out might just be the time I would need to know if it really was the girl of my dreams or just infatuation.

Wait as long as I could stand to. But every person has a different limit on how long that can be. Seeing changes towards that goal is certainly encouraging, however.

if the guy is patient and have a sure feeling that things will work out in the end. he will wait. he has to ask himself,, is it worth the wait? good things happen to those who wait.

You wait for her. Give her support as she likely needs it and get to know her better during this time.

What "things" are "unsettled"???? Are you currently in jail for chopping up your first husband into tiny pieces and using him, like bacon bits, on your garden salad??? Is this why I have to wait???? I'm curious...........
