Using a good shampoo is a good first step but in addition, you should also try a leave in conditioner that you apply after towel drying your hair. A regular conditioner (one you wash out) won't give you as much shine as a leave in one.

If you dye your hair alot, I would the henna blocks from lush, its all natural and bring out your natural shine, its amazing.

If you perfer not to dye your hair, then I would get some hot oils to repleace any lost moisture in your hair, and only wash your hair every other day. If you wash you hair every day, your stripping it of its natural oils, making it dry and brittle in due course.

I have always done it this way, and hairdressers have always asked me how I got my hair shiny lol.

The best brand of shampoo and conditioner I have come across is Garnier or Herbal essences.

And I always let my hair dry naturally, using a hair dyer or straighteners will dry it out further on repeated use. I always use them on special occasions, like a night out etc.

Try dying it with henna from Lush, it's fiddley but worth the effort. It really makes your hair shiny because of the cocoa butter.

Failing that, shampoo it every day and then condition the ends of your hair, but not the top of your head, every day. Don't blow dry or straighten and don't use synthetic dyes. Drink plenty of water and eat lots of fruit and veg.
