The only pill that will "block or stop the effects of alcohol" is Antabuse, which will make you deathly ill if you drink (the idea being that instantly puking after every sip is a pretty good deterrent). Your question would seem to be more "how can I keep from getting hammered when I drink socially?" and the answer to that one is to choose lower-alcohol drinks (wine coolers, schnapps and soda, etc), sip them slowly, and alternate them with non-alcoholic drinks (soda and lime, tonic and lime, O'Doul's and such). As you've discovered, drinking isn't one of those things where "more" is automatically "better."

Good luck!

No, but if you exercise and build muscle that could help you. The reason men can handle alcohol better than women is they have more muscle than women. More muscle needs more blood, and that dilutes the alcohol. Also, don't eat on an empty stomach and don't get caught in a draft after drinking. Don't mix drinks and don't add carbonated drinks to your alcohol, carbonation speeds absorption.

If u mean the headache on the next day, i think the buttermilk or a beer helps.
But the best way to stop the effect of alcohol is a nice sleep. :)))
or just eat somethink while drinking and it won't be so bad
