You couldn't pay me to like either one...They have caused such misery and strife in the world and become rich in the name of helping the poor....They just help themselves to anything they want.

I loved John Paul II, but he never set out to convert anyone. His goal was completely geopolitical....a place no Pope, bishop or priest belongs. He did things that previous popes would have told us were a scandal to the Catholic faith such as kissing the Koran and letting a Hindu priestess anoint him in a pagan ceremony. The first Commandment of God strickly forbids this kind of thing......We finally have a pope who is trying to put the church back on the right road. He calls a spade a spade. With God there is only right and wrong, black and white. We have gotten used to everything being white-washed....now we are going to see the real picture of what things should be. Benedict XVI is a good pope. Remember that Christ was very unpopular. He said for us to put aside the things of this earth, pick up our cross and follow him.

I do like our new pope. He really knows his theology, and is so warm-hearted.
I have to say though, I was a really big fan of JPII. As for missing him, no not exactly, since as a Catholic I realize that we are all a part of the Communion of Saints and that even death never really separates us from those we love. Our beloved pope has joined that invisible cloud of witnesses and I can feel him cheering us on.

Miss him? No, I don't, but only because I know that he is with God in Heaven, and he is with all of us (spiritually) now. His wisdom and knowledge will be missed.
I think Benedict XVI will take a little getting used to, just as JPII did when he was elected. I like him, thought.
