Here in Aus - it is standard that ALL secondary ( high ) schools have uniforms. It helps to identify the schools; puts all students on an even level;
some school have quite strict dress standards; other a bit more relaxed particularly in the north of the country
Also many workplaces have uniforms so you get used to wearing them whilst in high school

totally against it. It is just taking away individuality. Although I believe their intentions are good, They are going about in the wrong way. First off, kids are cruel. They will find other things to tease about. This is no reason to go to uniforms. Second, many parents cant afford them. They rely on hand-me-downs in the first place. Third, It wont help them focus more on school. That has nothing to do with the clothes one wears. It depends on how much they value education. Fourth, I don't believe it will help with the gang thing, because kids are smart. They know who is in their group and WILL find a way to display it

When I was in high school, I would have HATED to wear a uniform. I wore one in elementary school, and it was depressing, everyone looking the same, and watching other kids I knew (that went to a different school) picking out clothes for school, going to school dressed nice, etc.

For it. Maybe people would care more about their grades, and stop being so stupid. Quite blunt, but whatever. Also could stop steriotyping if there was uniforms.
