The following Saturday I started here it is almost a week later and I'm still spotting. Is this normal? The pill I'm on I took it about 5 yrs ago and had no problems but this time I didn't wait for my period I just started taking it in the middle of the month because I forgot that you were suppose to take it after your period & my DR didn't tell me. When I started spotting I was also cramping bad & I normally don't get cramps bad so i stopped the pills and yesterday because I thought I had stopped I started up a new pack of them. But I'm not actually stopped, I'm still spotting.
Can someone please explain to me if this is normal or whats going on?

Thank you......

Most situations are different. Since you started in the middle of your cycle, I can only guess that you started your cycle as normal and the spotting may be because of the pills you started taking. It also matters on the reason you are taking the pill.

I had a baby and when i started back on birth control, I started every 15 days. The doctor told me the birth control wasn't stronge enough and gave me a higher dose. after three birth control pills, my cycle is finally "normal" (for the lack of a better word)

I suggest you call you doctor and see what he/she says.

It's pretty normal to spot for a month or two after getting on the pill. Just keep taking your pills as prescribed and it will get better in a month or two. If you are having bad cramps or spotting heavily, it would be a good idea to see your doctor, just to make sure that nothing else is wrong.
Hope this helps!

It's normal. When you first start taking the pill, it can take a couple of months before your body and hormones adjust to the new routine. Particularly if you've started taking them mid-cycle. The best thing you can do it wait until you have your nex 'normal' period and start taking the pills again when you are supposed to.

In the meantime remember to use another safe method of contraception. Your cycle will be slightly screwed up so you could really conceive at any time.

Good luck !

I used to take them a while back and I spotted too. Its normal, so is weight gain and eating a lot. The pills trick your body into thinking that it is pregnant, therfore having different symptoms.
