In the first place, how do you know they are mostly fakes? I doubt you interviewed many, yourself, and I doubt you did any real research into this. You likely are just repeating something you heard. In which case, you really have no business asking this kind of question.
When it come to political assylum, in this country, you are, in part, quite correct. Immigrants claiming political assylum do get preference over others, because in most cases, theirs is a matter of life and death. You would be a poor citizen, indeed if you were to allow a stranger to die because, say, you had something better to do.
However, what you may not know, since you clearly did not bother to research the facts, is that people claiming political assylum must be able to prove the direness of their situation. Their stories are checked out. What you also may not know is that, unlike illegal aliens, those who make the claim for political assylum put themselves at risk for making the claim. If their claim is denied, they get deported back to their country of origin.
So, YOUR claim serves no other purpose than to promote hate and intolerance. It is what happens when people spread a lie without verifying it's truth.

Asylum seekers come from places where they're persecuted by the local government for some reason - because of their politics, race, religion or some such. Typically, if you send them back, there's a strong chance that they'll be killed or jailed.
I don't have any problems giving such people preference in immigration. Yes, there are fraudulent claims, but how many genuine asylum-seekers' lives do you want to destroy in order to keep out the fakes? You have to strike a balance somewhere, and I prefer to strike it where the asylum-seekers get the benefit of some extra doubt.

They are not mostly fakes - this is a very small minority ruining it for the genuine cases, some who have had a worse time of it than you could ever begin to imagine.

Because the 'politically correct' brigade of idiots has brainwashed so many people to think that any criticism of asylum seekers or complaint about them is 'racist', which it manifestly is not.
The result of this is the fiasco we are having to face in so many countries, especially the UK
