Your too young?

I was at an insurance seminar because I'm an insurance agent and we had this get to know each other game where everyone went around the room and said what their favorite movie is and who their favorite actor and actress is.I said fear and loathing in las vegas was my favorite movie and the woman sitting next to me starting making fun of me saying I was to young and didn't know good movies.I'm to young to have a favorite movie?What was that comment about?I am young (23) but I'm married and have my own house and career.Its not like i'm 12 and living with my parents.Why do people do this?

People these days think that if your under the age of 26 they will judge u. They don't think that a young woman such as yourself can get anywhere without having more experience.

Try not to let it bother u for u should be proud that u made it this far, & i'm sure your family is to!! You make who u r not how others may think of u. Ignore them I'm sure that they were in your shoes at your age too.

because in the business world, you are young. It's not bad, but you need to be aware of older women that are bitter and love to put younger ladies down, it's kinda like testing the water. She said it, and if you did not say anything in response, feels superior to you. It's more her problem with her self image than yours. Don't worry about it.

I started working at a Title Insurance Company when I was 21 and left at 26. It's an interesting industry, there are alot of old bitter women there!

People who are older can be a little condescending to us younger folk. But rest assured that once you are confident in what you're saying and you have good thinking stills, they will develop a respect for you.

Also, it's common knowledge that the best movies were the ones in black and white. My fave movie is "Modern Times" by Chaplin. It's even silent, but what a wonderful film. Also, "The Kid" is outstanding!!

That hag is just bitter she was never successful that young-and she's jealous more hotter chicks are coming to take over. That comment shows her ignorance-she was testing you to see if you have thick skin and how well you handle yourself under negative comments to make her self seem superior-dumb biitch! Any who, next time don't let anyone stomp all over you, a good comeback to me, is when you tell them what they don't want to hear-because it will get under their skin-like you having said "oh really?, I don't know what a good movie is?, well, last time I checked it was my likes and my thoughts-not yours-that just shows how ignorant you are-but thanks for the comment"! If you looked calmed after what that hag said, even though it hurt-I applaud you!1) you didn't fight back and act all immature like that biitch who was trying to start something out of nothing; 2) She was ignorant, and she's old-which is kind of sad-actually really sad-she's acting like a 16 year old 3) Hopefully these advices help, and next you do stand up for yourself-if you feel it's necessary and with confidence to let them know your know going to take that crap-no one should. I think this was a good lesson learned, and now you know what to do next time!

I think that it was only a comment. All the people think different, Somebody says: "Each head is a world". I think that you have to take that how only a comment and be agree or disagree, you can't do nothing else. And that don't affect you, you too can do a comment. You are young and a great person( I think).

People are idiots, and probably jealous of your youth. I'm 23, I get it sometimes. But then I'm single and live with my parents until I finish my post-graduate studies, so maybe I deserve it.

because some people will look for any excuse to put another person down. Perhaps to her you were young cause you're younger than she is. But she didn't have to right to criticize you like that.
