I don't tell anyone I am sorry. I hate malls, too many people and you can't concentrate on what you are looking for because of all the noise. You can't move down an aisle to see something when there are 4 or 5 people looking at the same thing. Malls are a scary place. You have to worry about getting your purse stolen, if you don't "wear" mall clothes they look at you like you are a thief, you get pushed out of the way when you see an item you want and that person grabs it, and it is the most expensive place to buy anything.
I know your pain, but I would just tell your mother and grandmother that you don't want to go because you feel uncomfortable there.
Good Luck!

I think you need to do better reasearch. Claustrophobia is fear of small spaces which can result in panic attacks. Agoraphobia is the fear of having a panic attack in general in any place whether it be the grocer, at work or in the privacy of your own home. Sufferers of agoraphobia do not fear crowded situations, which is a common misunderstanding of this disorder.

Edit:// Anthropophobia- Fear of people or society.

Go to a therapist, I'm sure you can find a way to overcome this.

NO!

Your family should know about your claustrophobia if they don't already.
Then they will understand that you will not be going to the mall with them but not because you don't like them etc.

In the meantime, see your family doctor. There are various treatments for phobias these days and at the least, you should be getting counselling so that you can eventually live a normal life.

I have dealt with panic attacks for many years. I have been on meds most of that time. today I am able to go and do most anything. Clonazipam. Call your doctor. It is a horrible condition and is a physical condition.
I couldn't have even thought about going to a mall, much less do it. Tell her your sorry. You would love to be able to go, as I am sure you would love to be able, but you cannot.

Claustrophobia is fear of confined spaces. Agoraphobia is fear of wide open spaces. What's left? You are afraid of small spaces and big spaces? You should really seek counseling, because it seems you are always afraid.

You need to explain to your grandmother the situation. If you are agoraphobic that means you never leave your house...so how does your grandmother not know this information?

You shouldn't apologize for something you have no control over. If anything they should apologize to you for making you feel bad.
