hands down SHANGHAI...hong kong is far too much like home, nothing new or exciting. if anything live in shanghai, and visit hong kong when you need a piece of home..
i've lived in shanghai, and dream of the day when i can move back again

Shanghai... it's the leader in commerce in China, also the fashion capital of China.
Hong Kong is a British colony, more westernized. Nothing "new".

or you just speak English
Hong Kong is like Vegas - non stop - very westernized - it was a British colony before
Shanghai is less expensive - but the people in mainland China is
rude and they don't follow the rule or law - sometimes very impolite and dirty

shanghai. it's always more advatageous to live in a bigger country - more to do and go. culturally more enriching. HK was a British colony so things are more modern like most other cosmopolitan cities.

HK is the shiznit. It has shopping and has beautiful skyscrapers. The nightlife is so beautiful. Has a horse track that is top of the line in the world. I know a person who currently lives in Canada who was born and raise in HK.
