For my son's 17th birthday I got him a lottery ticket as a "fun gift." The thing is, it won 3800 dollars. He isn't old enough to collect it so I took the money. Am I right that the winnings are mine although the ticket was his? He is upset with me about this. He doesn't know that I'm planning on using the 3800 on his sister's breast enlargement. My son is smart enough to make it on his own, but his sister is not very bright and she'll need this to help her succeed in the business world.

wow, "just_me" thinks we're the same person?
what a weiner.
maybe you should split the money and get each of your kids one breast implant... that way his sister still gets the attention, and he'll have somethign to play with while you're at work

Okay, you CAN'T be serious on this one! How ignorant: a breast enlargement for a stupid girl to succeed? Well, with you as a father, she'll believe in your limitations for her!
If this is real: put the money in a back account in your son's name and give him every dime! This was a gift and is not your money to do with as you wish. Buy yourself (or your daughter) another lottery ticket and don't kill any future relationship you might have with your son or build hatred and jealousy between your son and his sister!
I can clearly see the entire family hating each other out of this foolish, selfish game you're playing!

You are wrong in so many ways. You bought him that ticket, you should have done the right thing and cashed it out for him. Or why did you bother getting him a lottery ticket anyway? And to top it off you're gonna spend the money on his sister? WHY? It's not HER birthday! Give him the money pops, he'll never forgive you. And your daughter does NOT NEED LARGE BREASTS to make it in the world, what planet are you from? How about investing the money into a a few college courses so that she can become bright enough!!! Money from your OWN account, not your sons.

give me a break u bought it for ur son so the mere fact that his ticket was the winning one and officially since he can`t legally claim it in the eyes of the law it`s not his however ur his mom and if u really gave it as gift u it`s not right to take it back ithink u r just glutuneous and seeing the money u don`t want to let it go instead u make up some stupid excuse about a silly operation that is not worth it and more than likely is not necessary anyways. if u have conscience it should probably have told u right thing to do already get over urself. ur too unfair

I would give $800 to my son for his birthday (and regulate his spending). Then I would deposit the other $3000 into his bank account,
For your daughter's breast enlargement!!??? How the Heck is that supposed to "Help" her in the business world? If she's not too bright you'd better help her decide on a trade because big boobs are not going to do it!
You are a gift-taker-backer! That's worse than a re-gifter!

Whether it was a "fun gift" or not, it was a gift to your son - he should get the money. He shouldn't have to understand why you would opt to give up HIS winning so his not-so-bright sister can get some big ta-tas.
PS - Bigger boobs won't help her succeed at anything other than pole-dancing, and if you think otherwise, I feel sorry for your children.

I think the money should be his. Since he's not old enough to collect it for himself you should at least put it in a bank account (under his name) so that when he is 18 he can use that money as he pleases.
To use it for his sister's breast enlargement is ridiculous!!! You are enabling your daughter to be the "dumb" one while teaching your son it doesn't pay to be smart and resent his sister.
No one needs breast enhancing to make it in the business world. What is she going to be a porn star or playboy centerfold?

If it was his gift fun or not, that money is his, not yours to keep. Getting your daughter a breast enlargement to help her in the business world?!? What the hell kind of office is she working in? If she's that bad off maybe you should get her some training in a different field.

You brought the ticket for him. Let him decide what to do with the money. You can save to get his sister's Breast enlarged, or better yet let her boyfriend pay for it. (Sounds a little funny a father getting his daughter a boob job.)

Wow -- you're a lousy parent -- did your parents ever give you a gift and then take it away? You're selfish and trashy..... give your son the money or I hope he takes you to small claims court... $3800 is an awfully cheap price to lose your son over...
