A clarifying shampoo has one job and that is to remove buildup of gels, mousses, pomades and other products that weigh down your hair with regular use. It differs from a regular shampoo because of the elevated acid content of the product and because of this, it should be used about once a month.

have you ever noticed when you use a new shampoo for the first time, your hair feel softer or shinier etc? well when you no longer have that look or feel then it means that you hair has grown accostomed to the shampoo and so a clarifying shampoo cleans up old shampoo buildup that can leave your hair with no shine. kind of like starting over. If you frequently go to the hair salon then a shamoo like that is a must to get the "salon smell" out of your hair

Clarifying shampoo takes things that tend to build up on your strands and gets rid of them. Things such as smog, dirt, and all that stuff that is floating around in the air, especially in bigger cities. They generally recommend 1-2 times a week. I recommend the Pantene Pro-V clarifying shampoo. They say that you wont need to know you should just use it anyway whether you think that you might need it or not. You can get build up anywhere and it will be very good for your hair to use it. I love it, it makes my hair feel so good!!

A clarifying shampoo strips out all of the hairspray, styling aids, oils, dirt, chlorine, hard water buildup, and environmental crap that builds up on hair everyday. If you use a lot of styling products, etc. I would use it once a week. You will know when to use it when your hair wont behave and after you shampoo it doesn't feel as clean as you would like it.

Clarifying shampoos are meant to degrease your hair and generally remove buildup that you may have from hair products.

If you use hair products daily and/or often use oil-based hair products on normal or oily hair, then it's fairly certain you'll want to include a clarifying shampoo on your shelf.

Remember to "switch out" (i.e. rotate) your shampoos on a regular basis so that your hair doesn't grow accustomed to it. A good bet is to use a bottle until it's half done, switch to another brand until that one is half done, then switch back to the other.

it strips out all the hair products and impurities...if you use products you need to use one once a week to clear your hair out so it doesnt get too much build up, which will make your hair look dull and can make it tangel easier
