No, the common cold virus isn't transmissible to dogs. However, there is a high incidence of dogs with the flu symptoms in homes that are experiencing certain strains of flu running through the family..In those cases the virus would be airborn, so whether or not you handle the dog would not be important.

Well, its probly best. They DO get sick from us sometimes. My cat gets sick everytime my son is sick, cuz he wont leave her alone.
