As someone else noted, ADD is typically treated with stimulants. If he really has ADD, it should respond to these medications. If he isn't responding, or if the side effects are untenable, get him re-evaluated by the same doctor, or seek a second opinion. If he wasn't seen by a psychiatrist the first time, perhaps go that route = their job is to understand peoples minds, and they are the ones with the training and experience at dealing with conditions like ADD.
In the meantime, I remember reading an article in Time many years ago about ADD. It featured an adult with ADD who had adopted a lifestyle of heavy coffee consumption to self medicate - something like 20 or 25 cups/day. This sounds unreasonable, but perhaps you could lessen the symptoms with caffeinated drinks?
Another potential approach: I saw a TV show about Tourette's syndrome once upon a time. It featured a weekend jazz musician who had the syndrome. The medicines calmed his symptoms, but a side effect that really bothered him was that he felt his jazz improvisations were destroyed. So he settled on a strategy of taking the meds during the week, so he could perform his job well, and then going off the medicines during the weekends, so he could perform his music well. It strikes me that this approach might work for ADD kids: take medicine so they can perform at school during the week, but go off the drugs during the weekends so that they can be themselves.
But I am not an MD, so if you try these things you should be sure to discuss them with your doctor.
Lastly, kids will avoid taking drugs they don't like or that they have heard are not good ... so you may want to make sure your son is actually taking his medicines ...

If the cat is a male, that is not kidney stones, that is urinary tract an infection. Proteins have formed crystals in its bladder. women persons could have this too, in spite of the undeniable fact that that's rarer. those crystals inn interior the tract battling urination. If there's a clutter field, see if the feces have grew to become orange. in the event that they're, that's merely too late, the kidneys have close down. you will ought to positioned the cat down. If not, a vet will use a syringe to drag out urine from the bladder, taking rigidity off the crystals and relieving various the discomfort. The vet will then insert a decathater into the cat, shifting/breaking the crystals, and administer drugs to interrupt up the crystals interior the bladder. Worst case circumstances, the vet will ought to amplify the Urethra/urine tract to make passing of the crystals much less demanding. If merely the decathater and the medicine paintings, you will ought to alter the cats weight-alleviation plan to a urinary tract friendly nutrition; it many times says it on the kit. via fact the crystals are already lodged interior the tract, no homestead therapy will restoration the region. Hunt for a inexpensive vet or a veterinarian college; they pick try matters. the value of the syringe, decathater, and medicines selection from state to state. no rely if it remains to costly to have performed, turn the cat over to the humane society. it could have a 50/50 risk there. the two they save it, or they positioned it down. do merely not enable it go through. solid success. P.S. do not understand in case you will possibly pick to attempt it. Benjamin Franklin had this form of challenge. He became subscribed a warm bathtub. the nice and comfortable water led to not in hassle-free terms the bladder to amplify, however the tract besides, permitting urination, supposedly. i've got not at all heard if this quite works or not. Or if it would even paintings on a cat.

I am almost 13 and I am ADD. We spent years taking me to therapy, and trying homeopathis remedies (a better diet). I just recently started visting a new doctor, who prescribed me medicines. ADD meds have the least amount of harmful side affects then any other medicines. I take Focalin and it really works. If that is not what your son is taking, talk to the doctor. As for homeopathis remedies, talk to your doctor, and give it a try. Nothing ventured nothing gained!

Don't know of any. ADD is usually treated with a stimulant, and they should not have many side effects. Ther are 2 typical meds for this in use today.
If your kid continues with the base problem after taking meds, then have him/her reevaluated. Stimulant meds are not appropriate for a child without ADD, it can make a bad situation worse!

Unfortunately, no. I have ADD, diagnosed 21 years ago. I have taken Ritilin in my youth. I hated it. Once I became an adult, I refused all meds. I didn't like the idea of taking something to make myself "normal". Now that I have a family I take Straterra for them, not me. It is very difficult to live with someone who starts a dozen projects and can't finish any of them. It makes me more tolerant and even tempered. It is a hard decision to make. Do your research. Arm yourself with as much info as you can. Good luck.

I'm sure there are. Look for Ayurvedic or Homoepathic meds for it online. There are Class II narcotics like Ritalin, Concerta, Focalin and Adderall for ADD.

My 2 sons had it too. All the schools wanted to give them was Ritalin. The schools even called me home and wanted to know if he had taken hsi Ritalin. Try St. John's Worth or something called Seradyn. I take Seradyn and it works within 15-20 minues. Do a google on Seradyn and read.
I hope it helps.

I found something for ADHD, I'm not sure if it will help:

Just talk to your pediatrician before you start your child on anything, including herbs! Natural doesn't *always* mean good; rattlesnake venom and poison oak are natural but I wouldn't want to come in contact with either!
