Yahoo just hit me with a violation for my previous question about an article in this week's Time magazine titled "Does God Want You To Be Rich?" becuase it wasn't a question...
I responded to them to explain the violation since the details ending with the comment, What are your opinions?
In your experience am I wasting my time with this, will they respond and reinstate the question and points?

and it's 10 points, which I've already made back...
I'm asking because I was curious and nothing more...

Violations are stupid. Answering with "**Vomits profusely**" got Jibba Jabba's old account suspended. I asked him, "How can they suspend you for being sick?"
It doesn't make any sense.

*sigh* You are wasting your time.
You should ALWAYS file a protest for the violation, to at least protect yourself, but I have been pounded with "Not a question" violations as of late and have even been placed on official notice that I can be suspended or deleted without notice.
The points are gone, gone, gone. The question is gone, gone, gone.
And I have found that the "Not a question" catagory really is a place to lodge a complaint against your answer or question, when no other catagory fits the bill.
It's only an OPINION that it's not a question or an answer.
When you file your reports, I always challenge that this violation is an abuse of the Report Abuse system, as the person is making a judgment call, not based on facts but feelings.

I had two posts removed. In both of them, I responded, by justifying why the violation was unfair. In both cases, I got no reply and my posts were not undeleted. I still think it was unfair both times, but I never got to know why it wasn't according to Yahoo.

I was just hit with a violation myself. I think that was a valid question, and far more substantial than all these idiodic questions posted by idiots that we have to wade through everyday. So many idiots get to post dumb @$$ questions and answers and get away with it, but we who actually respect the concept and community of Answers are persecuted. I totally feel you, buddy my friend, and your violation was absolutely unfair.

No, they will not respond. I have asked them in the past to respond to my violations with no success. Looked like a question to me.

Violations seem to be dished out capriciously. There is clearly very little, if any, thought processes behind them.
