ok..here's the problem..I'm 17 and my mom is so overprotective about my clothings. How can I make her understand that there's nothing wrong with what I want to wear and everyone else wear them?

Just because eveyone else wears those clothes, doesn't mean that you have to wear them.... hell, if they all were gonna jump off a cliff, would you do that too? Your parents probably don't want you to wear these clothes because they are indescent and no offense, but most girls these days look like floozey's..... you don't wanna look like that do you???

It doesnt matter what others are wereing , if the jumped of the bridge would you have too. you know a young gal can look nice with more close than not looking so trashy ,
the way you dress is what guys look at as an easy lay instead of what a nice young lady you are.
So don't blame your mom she is only protecting you and it is also call try to teach you self respect.

First don't use the "everyone else is doing it." Secondly, what is it you want to wear? I wont allow my 12 year old step daughter to wear belly shirts. (She looks l4 or 15 as it is.)
My own mom was very conservative about clothing, I was always told to pull down my skirt, or pull up my shirt, or a combination of the two.
Try combining some of the forbidden pieces of clothing with ones your mom deems appropriate. (Short skirt with a long sleeve shirt, midriff with a jacket over it)

You can't and you shouldn't. Your Mom has been there and she knows what she is talking about. Her job is to impart her wisdom on you and your job is to listen and respect.
At 17 you may not be at home much longer. Listen to your mother until you mature. You will have a better relationship with her and you will be making your own decisions soon enough, with some more maturity under your belt.

Show her that she can trust you. Take responsibility- not just in going out, but maybe take a part-time job etc. to show that you're capable of making sensible decisions in the wider world. Show her how mature you can be, and she won't feel nearly as anxious about you going out in certain clothes.

Because you are the one that does not understand.
Just because 'everyone' dresses like a hoochie slut does not mean you need to.
When a girl dresses a certain way she is making a statement to the rest of the world about her sexual promiscuity.
It is not 'cute' for a young girl to dress trashy...it's just trashy.

whatever you do, DON'T say "but everyone else is wearing it" Parents hate that. Try to explain to her you want to wear them and it makes you feel depressed and unattractive to wear the clothes she suggests. Good luck!
