My wedding is in a month and my shower I think is this weekend. Well, I keep looking at my registaries online for two reasons. 1. to update and add items and 2. to see what has been purchased for me. Am I the only one that does this? Is this terribly wrong of me? Am I cheating? It's so much fun to see what my friends and family have gotten so far though!!
:)

I'm curious what Galactic Man means by free gifts. I thought that was the idea of gifts? If you had to pay for them, then they wouldn't be gifts, now would they. Poor lonely man.
But thanks to all those who answered kindly, even if you don't think I should be peeking.

I did it. You know what you registered for so it's not like it's going to be a surprise when you open it. Unless you have a crazy grandmother like I do (think of the Aunt in Christmas Vacation) that thought she'd be original and get something WAY off the registry. I still haven't used this item and have no clue what to do with it.
I had to keep checking it because we didn't register for enough (we'd lived together for two years and didn't need that much) and people kept asking what else we could use.

There's nothing wrong with doing that. It's a great way to find out what you still will need to get between now and then. Just don't tell anyone what you're doing so that you can look surprised when you open the items! lol

It isn't wrong, you are just ruining your surprises. If you are going on to see what you got, then why ruin the fun of the shower? If you are going on to make sure that there are still reasonable priced items on your registry so you don't get 5 toasters, then it is fine.
Good Luck!

my wife and I did it ourselves. nothing wrong with it if you ask me. personally we spent a hell of alot more on our wedding then we got jack in terms of wedding gifts so I don't feel so bad for looking. Hell we even had a money dance to help fund our honeymoon and only had two people dance with us. needless to say our family is full of cheap *** bastards and we found that out the hard way. Makes christmas easy though. we know they do buy so we don't either.

It takes the surprise out of opening the gifts, but I think we all have done it!

You're ruining the suprise!!!
You've already looked, but I'm sure not everyone has purchased their items yet. Stop looking and save some suprises for you and your fiance!

i see nothing wrong with looking at the registery at all. it costs too much now days to buy all the "good" things for a newlywed so it just kinda gives you a heads up as to what you will need to purchase yourself.

i know a lot of people that did that and i think once my wedding is closer i probably will too! one of my friends turned it into a game. she looked at the items that were bought and tried to guess who might have bought them!

You are supposed to view them to update them. But I think viewing them too often will ruin the surprises for you.
