The best gift my parents received for their 30th anniversary was a "money tree"...it was a small potted evergreen tree with several rolled bills attached to the branches...they loved it...I thought it was a cool way to give a money gift... then they can buy what they like.

Hey, a nice getaway like a bed and breakfast would be nice, or a cruise-depending on what your budget is-you can book some cruises for like 4-5 days for under $700, depending on when you want to go, and what kind of rooms you book-this of course does not include airfare but my inlaws are celebrating their 25th and they want a cruise-or just throw them a nice suprise party and invite all the family and their close friends---or take them out to dinner at a really nice restaurant-just kind of whatever things they are into-my in-laws like to eat out, so i take them to the nice restaurants i grew up eating in-they are also very materialistic, and they have everything they want, so they are kinda hard to shop for, which they will not admit to-or do something like a hot-air balloon ride or a really romantic theater date-----just some ideas----good luck and have fun!

I'm guessing you need an anniversary present then (not a birthday, as you stated). A nice vase in crystal, or a bowl.

Neither have I! Flat screen plasma TV or a weekend cruise up or down the coast. A new bedroom set. a monthly wine subscription.

how about 27 roses, one for each year? Or a gift commemorating your spouse's birth year, as you wouldn't have them without the parents!
