Hello mrsb! Hows the wooden leg? I hope you have managed to keep the eye in...the super glue is working better I hope.
I have never had to stand up for what I think is right, but as previously said, I would like to think I would. Respect and manners matter a lot and in this day of 'looking after number one' understanding that others count is very important.
Not exactly what you meant I know..but that is what i wanted to say.
Say hi to Mr Bongo for me :0)

Yes, I have been persecuted for my Faith. Which only made me stronger. I am just an ordinary guy who loves the Lord Jesus Christ, and I am a Born-Again-Christian. My career has spanned the Armed Forces and the Motor Trade, as well as a self employed gardener.
Wherever I went, I took my Faith with me, and Jesus Christ in His infinite Mercy, has saved me from near death experiences. People love to argue about "Religion", however i don't see myself as religious at all, Christianity is a way of life. Once I put my trust in Christ, the Holy Spirit filled me with wisdom and understanding towards the Holy Bible and I am so rooted in my faith that nothing can turn me away from it, I fear nothing or nobody, because I have Christ as my Companion and my Saviour.
I have other hobbies and love dogs, recently I obtained two rescue greyhounds, and they are beautiful. The state the arrived at my home though was heartbreaking, now they live a contended and happy life and give me so much love in return, just for a little TLC. But I also like Astronomy, History, Creative Writing, Sports, reading and writing and of course animals in general.
If I could change anything it would be for the world leaders to acknowledge that whatever happens here on Earth, one day they will be answerable to God. I would love to show them that my God is real. Only then will persecutions, hatred, killing stop. But Christ will come again soon and we all have to be prepared.
God Bless You

Nothing comes to mind, but I hope everyone will stand up for what's right in Darfur, Sudan. Thousands are dying every month in the first genocide of the millennium. The U.N. is leaving the end of the month which puts even more people at risk. Contact the president and congressmen to insist that somethng be done to stop the genocide.
Never again! Not on OUR watch!

I once stopped a guy from getting beaten up - my mates had a fight with him, it got a bit messy and i stepped in before it got out of control.
Typically i saw the guy years later and the only person he could remember from that night was...guess who..moi. Two black eyes and a constant threats since and i had to abandon my fave nightclub because of him.
Wouldn't have got involved if i'd known this would have happened, but at the same time god knows what would have happened to the guy if i hadn't stepped in.
What's your problem?

Doing what is right, or standing up for what is right is often the most difficult path. It is far easier to be silent, but silence implies consent. I have been frozen out and set on fire many times in my life for speaking up and speaking out. I wouldn't change a thing. These things shape us and give us what only experience can...character. Principles only mean something if you stick to them when it is inconvenient.

As long as you stand up with respect for other peolple's beliefs, and you "standing up position" isn't hiding an attempt to control or change others, i think it is a brave way to face life.
