you could get married at the courthouse, all you would have to pay for is the marriage license. Under 30 bucks.

By your dress on sale or even used. The groom can wear a suit he already owns and just buy a new shirt and tie. Have your Bridesmaid/ Made of Honor by their own dresses. Same with the grooms men/Best man. Have friends take your photos, DJ etc. You can get a minister or a JP to come to you for between $100-$200. Use a friends or family members backyard. Have friends/family make the food and buy a few bottles of liquor and cases of beer. Have the ceremony and reception all in the same place. It will cost you $1000- $2000 if all you have to buy is yours and the grooms clothes, rings, minister, and licence. Buy your flowers from the local grocery store.
Just remember it's about you not about pleasing your guests. Don't read those stupid magazines that tell you you have to have a $2000 dress and $100 a plate dinner. Those weddings put people $20,000-$50,000 in debt. I know someone who's parents remortgaged their home cause it cost close to $100,000 and they are far from rich. Just enjoy your day and the person you are choosing to spend the rest of your life with

I bugeted my upcoming wedding at $2000 with no reception and I think I will be able to still save about $300 when it is all said and done. You can do it outside like a park, I live in the Caribbean and I am doing mine on the beach. Shop around at different stores, it might be cheaper to rent a tux because when the wedding is over and you carry it back you get back some of your money, the same thing for a wedding gown. If you are having a bridal party make them buy thier item. And use cheap favours for your guests like baskets of candy, matches or scented candles. You should be able to manage quite nicely.

We're having our wedding in the park (under a gazebo). The city we live in let us reserve our time for free. Our friend who works at a church is "borrowing" folding chairs. We're sending evites instead of invitations. And our friend is a notary public so she's doing the ceremony for us. Decorations aren't neccesary b/c the park is so pretty.
The only cost for the ceremony itself will be whatever we wear, we're not having attendants, and we're not going for traditional formal clothes.

For the reception, we're having a cookout at a friend's house. We don't expect to spend more than $500 in food. (we'll see if we can stick to it)

We aren't going to have more than 30 people. This isn't the kind of wedding most people want, but we're thrilled with it! It sounds like it might be what you want too.

Oh, and our liscence here in Florida is about $90.

You can get married cheaper in a courthouse, but if you want to celebrate with friends, you can still do it pretty cheap.

you can do a wedding on just about any budget! i got married in april. we're a military family so we got married on his leave between basic and his next station. so we were engaged a week! we planned a beautiful wedding in 2 days. dress, guest book, cake, etc. i think we spent a total of about $400, or less, can't remember off the top of my head. anyway, if you just want to get married you can always do it at the courthouse. i don't know that fee off the top of my head, but i'm pretty sure its miniscule. the most important thing is to make sure it is special for you and that you will be happy with it down the road. should you decide to go beyond a courthouse, you need to research, research, RESEARCH. don't stick with the first vendor you find, you need several quotes and prices. and be prepared to haggle prices. but, as i said, make sure you make it special for you.

Go to the courthouse & have a JOP wedding. My granddad used to do them- it's like $30.

Or you can search the web for wedding chapels near you (they aren't all cheesy) and they can do ceremonies for anywhere from $100- the thousands.

The least expensive way would be to go to the Justice of the Peace (court.) It would probably cost about $50. Just make sure your not making any decisions in haste, because a divorce is A LOT more!!
