I have had this cat for about 6 years I found her in the middle of a busy street and she has been with me ever since....She use to come in season EVERY month but because she got down in her back legs and had to take steriods every winter. I wouldnt let her out of the house. She is temperamental except when she came in season and then she loved every one...My father said she had to be hurting so I took her to the vet and had her fixed. Now the problem is she is losing hair in patches but no bald spots yet... she will only eat one kind of food...and the bowl can never be empty, either. She don't like people touching her unless she wants you to touch her, and if someone in the house does something wrong to her she lets me know by coming to me and screaming MEOW. I think the hips where she broke them in the street has arthritis and it is hurting so she is pulling there to try and give herself some relief. And to this day she doesnt go outside I fixed a window so she can bathe in the sun.

Sounds like your poor cat is struggling with the hip problem and starting to age as well. I've been a cat owner my entire life (I currently have 2), and my first cat was an outside cat, and my current two are indoor only.

The behavior sounds normal to me. And the best thing you could have done is decide to keep her inside. she will definately live longer because of that.

I would have her checked out by a good Vet., and then just love her for who she is.

Good luck!

ok, first of all she needs a healthy diet that will contain everything she needs.if she refuses to eat, try different types of food, dry and moist, and give her egg yolk for the fur.also try vitamins and the like.if you can't administer the pills yourself have the vet do it.be gentle and reassuring, as she may suffer a major trauma from the accident, and from all the pain.it's good that she trusts you, make her feel safe.it's ok if she doesn't go outside, many many cats are happy indoors.also try to play with her a little, some running around might help fix her hips, and make her more mobile.don't push her though, let her play only as much as she wants to.also brush her regularly.i wish you and your cat well, and good luck

Poor thing. I didnt really understand what the heck you were talking about "being in season" tho? Anyways if she is hurting then she could be biting at herself to try and stop it. You need to take her to the vet and let them know she is suffering. Maybe they can give you something to give her to help the pain and give her a shot or something to help.

Glad you saved the poor girl, that was kind of you.

Wow, thats hard to understand..

You didnt even tell us her legs were broken till the end.

Call your vet. If she is in pain you either need to get her medicine or put her in kitty heaven. I know its hard, but sometimes its the right thing to do especially if she's hurting. Would you like to be in pain with broken legs? I think you should do the ultimate thing to show her you love her. :( I'm sorry.

I am not quite sure I understand what you are asking but the last thing I would do is ask on here. I would take my kitty to the Vet ASAP!

Cats are normally pretty tempermental. Especially if you waited so late to have her fixed. They have complete personality changes if you wait until they are adults before you fix them.
