I always dress my kids in related costumes, it's fun!

Here is what they have been, my son is four years older than my daughter:

The Count and Big Bird
(I found the Big Bird costume in my daughter's size in a second-hand store and added numbers to a vampire cape for my son's costume, plus he had a little suit coat, it was so cute!)

Peter Pan and Tinkerbell
(both of these costumes were bought on eBay!)

Beauty and the Beast
(again, I think they were both bought on eBay!)

This year I'm not sure what we're doing. My son is getting older and wants to do scary costumes.

If you are in a cooler climate, they are both a good age to buy one piece costumes that are plush. Easier to get on / off for washroom / diaper change and will keep them cozy without a coat if it's cool outside.

I had a baby tiger costume for my daughter's 1st Halloween, complete with paws (mittens/booties).
