Excellent question!
I agree with the answer about committing yourself to another religion, which kills the old one.
Perhaps one of the pagan religions of the North.

It's not possible. People have been trying for centuries. Nietzsche thought he was really smart, most of his theories have been kinda tossed by philosophers though. He believed there wouldn't be any believers in God by the time he died. Such was obviously not the case. People are creatures of faith and worship. Everyone puts faith in something. Everyone worships something. Even atheists. They have faith in evolution. They worship things such as their children, or job, or money. Many people are motivated by the belief in God.
Perhaps Jesus Christ is considered legendary for a reason. Every time in history that Christians have been persecuted and killed, it acts as a catalyst that only strengthens Christianity. The only thing that weakens it, remarkably, is social acceptance. But then that doesn't get rid of the belief either, it only dilutes it.
BTW: So you aren't fooled by Zurioluchi's quote. It was a parable that Christ told. It wasn't something he said for people to do. Context is king my friend.

There is no such thing as JC nor little legendary gods. I've never heard of them because they are null and void just like mohammed. Jesus Christ is the answer. He crushed all little ones and fake ones.

Many a ruler and dictator have tried to do this. But surprise of all surprises, Jesus Christ keeps on living, where other gods have come and gone, Jesus Christ remains. Why? Because He is Everlasting from Everlasting, the Beginning and the End, the Alpha and the Omega. Praise Him!
BARBK: That was a wee bit harsh wasn't it? May I remind you that Jesus taught us, "Though I speak with the tongues of angels... but HAVE NOT LOVE, I am become like sounding brass of a clanging cymbal." 1 Corinthians 13
This means that though Christ's messages are sometimes bold and harsh and even at times scary to the unbeliever, there must still be compassion and love when sharing the 'truth' otherwise you are nothing but NOISE. Try to sprinkle a little love in your message next time. K? That is the way Christ wants you to share His message, with LOVE.

Some people accept the Lord as truth (me), and some accept other gods. I say go with what you are comfortable with. Just remember- America is largely Christian, and if you are Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist (which I personally think is a GREAT idea). Also remember that religion isn't like clothes: you can't go switching about religions every year or so. Decide on one you'll be happy with and stick with it.

Since we are barred from burning them at the
stake, probably nothing else will work.
Ridicule takes longer however that is still legal
to do.
Here is a speech by a loving JC.
Luke 19:26-28
"He replied, 'I tell you that to everyone who has, more will be given, but as for the one who has nothing, even what he has will be taken away. But those enemies of mine who did not want me to be king over them—bring them here and kill them in front of me." After Jesus had said this, he went on ahead, going up to Jerusalem.
That sounds just like theft and murder to me, and oh, so loving.

People are realizing more and more that accuracy in history is only a modern requirement. Most of our understanding of history is full of propaganda vs real facts. Everything is being reevalutated, retranslated, and contextualized. The more we learn and understand - the less explanation we leave to the gods.

You will not have to worry about Him with you share your space in Hell with satan who is your father.
John 8:42-44 Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me.
43 Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word.
44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
Revelation 22:14-15 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

"BEHOLD, I an coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to render to every man according to what he has done."
Rev. 22:12
The mere fact the atheists are so offended by Jesus Christ should tell you something. Why would you be offended if He wasn't real. He's trying to tell you something. Listen! He loves you and wants you to come to him. Stop fighting his love for you.

This is a great question. I think one way is to examine the text -BIBLE, etc, with a critical and honest evaluation. I once was a believer because I was told I should be. But when I started to read the Bible carefully like I was reading it for the first time, I began to notice flaws and discrepencies and contradictions. The more I studied, the more I began to realize it isn't valid. Good reading to all....
