Some good advice already offered above. If your friend served on a ship and you know the name of it, you could also try a Google search for it. You might find that there's a Web site for the ship, which might list all those who served on it. You also might call the Department of Veterans Affairs (aka the VA) or the Pentagon, which might offer advice for your search. My wife once managed to replace my lost Air Force ring with the help of Pentagon personnel. They were most helpful. If nothing else, they might give you some additional leads.

Hm I guess that you served together. If you now what ship or unit try to google or search for it on the net. Then try to get a link to the pr office or staff unit if it is active today. Either I bet there is some organisation for retired navy people out on the net who could help you out. Or give the navy a call! I think they will try their best to get you right! Good luck! Johan

If you haven't tried www.military.com, try it. I have been in contact with several of my old buds.

Even try classmates.com, if knowing where they went to high school.

I have had success with both.
