Religion is a deep thing, to become Catholic you would need to start taking RCIA classes that are forming now and go through Easter. The first classes are very basic, you can attend some and take it from there, if it is not right for you, you can quit, it is not high pressure.
There are a lot of mis-conceptions about Catholics, we don't confess to the Priest and we don't worship Mary.
Catholics do put a lot of importance on attending Mass every Sunday, (or Saturday evening)
Being a Catholic is not the easiest, but it is worth the effort.
I became Catholic because I believe in the divinity of Jesus, and that he started the Catholic Church by making Peter the first Pope.
I am glad you are seeking! I wish I could tell you that being Catholic is easy!
If it is not right for you where you are now in your life, please consider it down the road.
Peace! and God Bless You!

Religion isn't meant to be something easy or comfortable. It's a way of understanding life. If you're relaxed about that, you essentially have NO religion. I'm a Christian, but I don't think it's possible to believe the things I believe and then just breeze through life. It take commitment. I can't suggest a religion to you. I think religion needs to come to you, specifically you need to have a personal relationship with God. I'd encourage you to read the Bible and start talking to people, get out there, and start listening to ideas, not just to find some comfort, but to seek out an explanation for this world.

If you're not willing to learn or spend time devoted to any one particular religion, you might not want to "convert" to any. I seriously don't think it's a good idea to convert to a new lifestyle based on answers from yahoo, no offense.
It's probably not a good idea to simply look for an "easy" religion...because RELIGION is a lifestyle, not something that you can decide when you want to deal with it and when you don't.
I don't think you're ready to seriously take a look at any religion.

That sounds like typical, modern, American Christianity. No committment and no obligations, but a free ride at the end.
But be warned, if you hang around it too long you may actually find that you want to learn, go to church, serve God, give, read and live the Bible, and make a difference for good in the world. In mean, you might actual end up as a real Christian.

Wow! the arrogance! I don't sell my church nor would I truly want that kind of approach. As a matter of fact I did encourage, teach and generally welcome someone I learned later had said he would commit 1 year (which is what he did). He gave no room to learn, grow and perhaps stay for more. Nor did he really have an interest.

Religion is not a stamp to get on your back!! Who ask you to follow a religion. If you are ignorant, nobody can show you the way. Evenif someone will show you, you wont go that way. May be you should wait for few years, sit back in your room and think who are you in this crowd of millions, then perhaps you will seek out the answers for your questions, then you wont need to ask us.
A religion should give your peace and not let you go astray or brain wash you. Go out and seek yourself, that all i can say to you.

You shouldn't join a religion, religion doesn't mean anything
you should become a christian
And being a christian isn't easy but its the right thing to do
People ask me what religion I am I say I'm achristian who follows Jesus. I go to a baptist church but its not about being a baptist it's all about Jesus and how you live your life on earth for him

You need to decide for yourself. It is good you are looking. I am spiritual and believe in god.I do not feel any one religion has all the answers. I would like to start my own .Taking the best attributes from each and making them one. Too many years of translation and second hand stories for me to believe there is a pure correct religion. If you would like to be my first church member email me at carolinatinpan@yahoo.com

If you *have* to have a religion (and I would recommend not having one) then choose Deism, because it's the only one that is consistent with observable reality - The Deist believes that a god started the universe going but then had nothing whatsoever to do with it ever again.

So... you just want an easy way to go... no stress...no mess... no commitment...no work... Get real! Anything worth having must be worked for or at.... If you want a healthy marriage you have to work at it all the days of your married life. If you want a vital faith, you need to be hungry to learn and grow and discover all you can about God. Don't be satisfied with mediocrity. There are religious people....who go through the motions....and there are real Christians...who devote their hearts and minds and lives to serving the God they believe in. What do you want? I choose to serve God with all my heart....not because I am afraid of hell, but because I choose to love and appreciate what Jesus Christ has done for me. If you want passionate Christiantiy, the kind that changes lives, try Jesus. If you are really wanting answers and satifaction to the emptiness within... try Jesus. If you need someone when you are lonely...try Jesus. If you want a living God who cares about you...try Jesus.
