A ringworm is any of various contagious skin disease caused by related varieties of fungus and characterized by itching and the formation of a ring shaped,discoloured patches covered with scales or vesicles..It can be cured by an antibiotic .You must call for a doctor as soon as possible.

You can buy any anti-fungal spray and spray it on three times a day. Anything with tolnaftate will do the trick. I have quite a few animals and have caught it a time or two and this is what works best for me. My doctor suggested it. The tolnaftate spray works on animals as well as humans. It's not expensive to buy and is carried everywhere. The spray works better than the antifungal cream. Hope this helps.

Use a fungicide,( like lotramine) or something similar. It is found in the footcare department or also jock itch. Ring worm is a fungus and you need to put the cream totally around the infected area. Do not spread the infection by scratching or rubbing. You can transfer it to other areas on the body by doing so. Good luck.

My golder retreiver just had it, my vet said you can buy athlete's foot spray, any kind with miconazole in it, or any of the "zole's" in the ingredients. Works on animals as well as people. Let's you avoid getting a prescription for it. Good luck!

There's over the counter med you can get at the drug store. It's the same med for athletes foot.

it's a fungus and depending on how bad it is, you can use topical or systemic meds. Topical meds would be: Lotrimin, Monistat, Nizoral, etc. Systemic are things like Diflucan.
