My brother passed away suddenly due to heart failure two days ago. He was about to turn 18 yr old on 18th sept. His death was a shocking incident & I hav no idea how to deal with the situation. I'm myself trying hard to accept this fact but my mother's condition is worse. The loss of her dearest child is too much for her to handle. My father appears to be composed but I know how much pain he is suffering. Please help me. I cannot tolerate their condition..

Sweetie, I'm so sorry! Losing a sibling or a child (or anyone that you love for that matter) is beyond difficult. I'm afraid there's not much you can do except letting your parents know that you're there if they ever need to talk.

Time will ease some of the pain, but even time won't be able to heal this. I hate to say this, but this sense of loss will always be present. Things won't get much easier.

As cruel as this sounds, life goes on. You and your parents must keep on living as best as you can. You can take one lesson away from this terrible tragedy--- you never know when your life will end, so you must live each day to the fullest. Live each day as if it were your last. Spend time with your family and friends. Most of all, make sure you live your life so that you have no regrets.

Good luck to you and your family. I am truly sorry for your loss.

I am so very sorry for all of you. Please see a grief counselor and if your parents aren't ready to go with you, go anyway. Talk with everyone you can about skills for handling grief. I pray that your personal faith will help all of you you through this difficult time and guide you in the years to come.

You need to sit down and talk to both of your parents, and say, Mom and Dad I know that losing your child had to be the hardest thing that you have ever had to deal with. but God has an even bigger plan for him, He is in no pain, no sorrow, so he is at peace, He has left us with many memories, to share in our heart, so we have to thank God, we have each other, and then you can say, like I remember the time etc, etc, Time is what it takes, and God will see you through this.
