What is the tax rate in Arkansas? If you know that, just multiply it by the amount of the purchase. For example, if the sales tax is 5%, the equation would be 14900 x .05 The amount of sales tax should also be listed on your sales receipt.

Did you trade a vehicle in? That makes a difference in tax, too, because the trade in value would be deducted from the tax figure since you have theoretically already paid tax on the trade in when you purchased it.

For example, if your trade in was valued at $10,000 and paid off but you bought the Saturn new for $14,900 the taxable amount would be for the difference in value, $4900. Just multiply that by your tax rate.
