There are three main emotions of the heart. Love, Fear and Anger. You can't have one without the other. If you feel strong love for something, you may feel strong hatred towards what may threaten the love you have. That is why there is no peace in the world

We would not be so afraid of peace if we knew with certainty that we could reach consensus with those around us and they would not resort to violence.
The simple fact is Gandhi would not have stood a chance against Hitler. Had Gandhi led a non-violent protest of a million people to Germany; Hitler would have exterminated them all.
We are afraid of peace because even peace can be used as a weapon. Neville Chamberlain was so certain that peace could be achieved, even with Hitler, that he sacrificed the Czech people and their nation to the Nazis in hopes of appeasing them. This led to a war that engulfed the world and killed tens of millions of people. And, none of it would have happened if Chamberlain had drawn the line at Czechslovakia, instead of Poland. Had Europe united against the Nazis at that point, Hitler would have been defeated, Europe would not have been levelled, the Holocaust would not have happened, and the Japanese military would not been confident that they could annex large segments of Asia into a greater Japanese Empire. The rape of Nanking. The genocide and torture of Unit 731. None of this would have happened, but for Chamberlain.
We are afraid of peace for fear that our desire for peace will be used against us and force us to fight a much more bitter struggle than perhaps a tough stance now would require.

In this world of perpetual restlessness events are always distributed in an incoherent and evenly normalized manner governed by laws of chance and probability. Being part of creation even human mind is similarly influenced by external stimuli not allowing an individual personality to explore neither the external phenomenal world nor the inner world of subtle psych fully in a coherent manner although many successes are scored by scientific means. The laws of chance always leave a doubt behind in all explorations and a fear of undesired result which can only be resolved in a peaceful manner by first establishing coherence of thought and action free from prejudice and harm within onself irrespective religious faith or dogmatic conviction and extend the same on a common platform of human existence for lasting benefits of earthly creation.

Unfortunately, everyone gives lip service to the desire to live in a world of peace and harmony, but we then continue to live in a fear based world.
A perfect example of this is the fact that in the United States we allow our leaders to spend over half a trillion dollars every year on war and machines of war - more than the entire rest of the world combined. At the same time we ranked outside the top 20 in charitable contributions by developed countries.
If we could shift from fear based politics to humanitarian efforts we could feed the hungry, house the homeless, and provide health care for every man, woman and child without increasing our tax burden by a single penny.
One of the greatest statements ever made by man was "We believe these truths to be self-evident, that ALL men are created EQUAL, and endowed by their Creator with certain inaleanable rights, and among these are the rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness."
This should be our planetary objective. The Earth gives us all the resources we need to guarantee these rights to every human being on the planet.

There will never be peace on earth. It is not human nature to be content. We always want more.
And most major religion's goal is expansion of that religion. People don't want to give up their religion.
