I had a wine called TEJ (pronounced tay) at an Ethiopian restaurant in Washington, DC while on vacation. I would like to puchase this wine on line. Does anyone know where it can be purchased?

If you live close to NY or NJ you can try calling this place:

Ethiopian wine can actually be made at home pretty easy here's a recipe:

Or you can try:

If you're still in the DC area, there's a winery in Maryland called Linganore which carries Tej (I don't believe they make it, just carry it.).

In the website, they also list area retailers that carry their wines, so you may not have to trek all the way out to the winery...although they have free tastings so it could be worth the trip.

Ironically, if I recall correctly, I think that at the winery they mispronounce the wine "tezh"

I have never purchased from this place, but you can try the Lakewood Vineyards at http://www.lightlink.com/oenoman/seifus-tej-label.html
