Would you be READY if the end of the world came....and for those of you who believe in nothing...what would be going through your mind when the end of this world came?

I guess I should state my own views. I believe in humanity, but I just don't think enough people believe that could make a difference to this world. I want to know my children have a good future when I'm gone, but I don't believe it's destined that this world will survive for very much longer. We're destroying it, the air, the water, all that we need to survive, and I don't believe we can right it before it, and the insanity that is raging throughout the world, can be altered. The bible says the world will end by fire...never again water..I believe that fire to be nuclear and if not, caused by the ruin of our planet and likely a meteor shower of asteroids or something. So why do people waste life? We don't deserve it if we squander it so.

I'd be ready. You live, you die. I enjoy living but if it comes to an end I have no worries about it.

I believe in lots of things. An afterlife isnt one of them. As for your question, what does 'ready' mean? Would I look forward to the end of the world? No. Only an idiot or a madman would. What would go thru my mind? Things like remembering my accomplishments perhaps, those I loved, things I saw, my life in general. What I would NOT waste my time or thoughts on is wishing/hoping/expecting something to come AFTER. Dwelling in a future that might not come is as useful as dwelling on the past. In other words, not useful at all.

I am an atheist, so I'll identify with the second question.
If the end of the world began today, I'd be excited -- it'd mean that proof one way or the other of the existence of a deity would be upon us and I'd finally have a chance to meet the guy. I'd look forward to seeing him, shaking hands, asking a few questions about a few things I'm still unsure of, and asking what's to become of me. If he's a good chap, I have nothing to fear. If he says hell, well, better there than to worship a god who doesn't honor the genuine pursuit of truth. I'd be content at least knowing the truth.

I have accepted the saving greace of Jesus Christ and I pry I am found worthy to be puled from thsd world during the tribulation. from what I have read ans learned those that do not believe will be crying for the mountains to fall onthemand hide them. It is not going to be a good time and I pray for all people to find the way the truth and the light.

I be as ready as I am ever going to get. It is not like something you can plan or pack for. When the end of the world comes it is just here. It is like Death we are all ready for. And I am happy.

I"m an atheist and nearly 60 years old. The "end of the world" is a lot closer to me than to many posting on Y!A's. It is of little or no concern to me and does not affect my daily life.
I'm not sure what you would expect people to do, but you'll get the chance to find out sooner or later.

I'm not truthfully ready in God's eyes. I agree that Humanity has destroyed this earth and that I don't want to live among those who continue to.

My life changed when I gave it to God three years ago.
I went from "hate and misery" to "love and compassion."
It wasn't overnight, mind you, but I became a better person.
Knowing that I'm with God, I have no fear of dying.
Don't get me wrong, I love life and I hope to live a very long time.
But if the world was to end today?
I won't mind.
My soul is prepared.
