it is not relatively conceivable for an afternoon, yet Boston isn't too far - and that's a great assessment to long island. it is approximately 4 hours by utilising bus or practice, reckoning on which era of the day you're going (i've got had 5 hour journeys throughout the time of rush hour, yet i've got additionally made it in 3 hours by utilising automobile on a Saturday afternoon). There are 2 huge reward to vacationing Boston as a clean Yorker - you will see that how sane you're whilst in comparison with Bostonians and you'd be able to work out how impressive your city incredibly is :) i'm basically joking, Boston is a exciting little city to work out, yet i individually wasn't waiting to stay there. I additionally style of like the aspects surrounding Albany - like Hudson and different smaller cities. i'm no longer responsive to the call of the mountain variety (Catskills?) there, yet I used to flow to friends who have been attending college there and that i consistently rejoiced interior the summertime, trekking and tenting. the city is small, and it is often empty for the summer season as lots of the faculty pupils go away, yet once you're searching for a smash from the city life, that's a competent place to flow. you would be able to additionally trip to PA for the Poconos ... it is assorted exciting for the period of the summer season, various of BBQs and little summer season events the place you may meet distinctive people. despite if, as an eastern ecu, it is relatively conventional as a getaway for us, so i'm not sure of alternative events that are no longer as ethnically proper, lol. i'm hoping this helped!

Providence, Rhode Island is really nice. I also like Atlantic City, NJ. You could also go to the Lake George area in upstate NY. Hanover, NH or Burlington, VT are nice towns with colleges so they have events and all sorts of cute things to see. Hershey, PA is great. Ocean City, MD... there's that weird island with the wild horses there. You didn't list Philadelphia on your list, might be worthwhile to check out. Gettysburg, PA also. Personally, I love West Virginia, but that might be a little too far.

Have fun!

Ithaca, NY - about a 3 hour drive from NYC. The Finger Lakes are beautiful. There are some gorgeous waterfalls and trails. The Holiday Inn in the center of town is a good place to stay.
