It is the blood type that is in great need. I have type o neg too. It can be given to anyone, but people with o neg can only receive o neg type blood. O neg comes in handy when hospitals have someone who is going to die in a matter of minutes if they don't receive blood immediatley, they have no time to test to see what the type of blood the patient needs, so they give them o neg. You should donate regularly, its needed.

O in itself is rare. If you have O blood you can donate to other blood types, but can only receive blood from someone with O. When you throw the - in there it complicates things. I believe that O negative is the rarest of the blood types.

it's rare I have o negative blood and the people at the blood bank are always trying to recruit me to donate
