I own a casio exilim - I think that camera is amazing. It takes great pictures - has many features including video. I have a 1gb card in it and it takes 30 min of video plus 100 some good quality pics...

Its pocket sized, has a huge screen on the back...

Great camera for about $300

Fuji F30. F20 if you want it a bit cheaper.

Great screen. Exceptional battery life. Top of the line image quality, and the ONLY compact digicam with high iso capability so you can shoot indoors with no flash.

No camera comes with memory built in, but you can get a nice big 1gb card for about $40. Try Newegg.com for the card.

There are some Pentax Optio's that are really small (like an Altoids tin), have a nice big LCD, 5-6 megapixels. Right in your target price range. Pentax is a good camera and has been for decades.

Try the latest Nikon Coolpix. It is in that size and price range, has quality zoom-able optics, and a lot of features.

I would get the Canon SD630. It is $302 at newegg and comes with a 1GB memory card.
