Is there any way you can enclose them in a closet type setting? You could utilize the inside space of the new closet by installing shelves overhead to store laundry detergent and other supplies. You could also use this extra enclosure to stick you mop, broom, etc in and they would be out of the way too.

This was/is quite common in older homes. My grandmother always just made sure the appliances all matched and that they were a complimentary colour to the rest of the kitchen. It is really about all you can do.

If you can put some kind of louver doors over them or some kind of closure, it'll look like more of a closet. Make the door the same color of your cabinets so it'll blend right in.

Free standing bifold doors or a "room divider" of some sort. You could easily move them while doing the laundry, and put them back when you're done.

If doors are out of the question you could put a curtain up or a roll blind

Perhaps a rolling wall unit. (small wall with casters/wheels). Just roll the 'wall' out of the way when you want to do some wash.

I would hange a curtain in front. Or a decorative screen would be nice too.
