So many times I have read the same old question, and someone has said there is no God, or prove that there is, well Prove there isn't. I know no matter how times people say read that story book the bible, but there is no proof, only words.
I have faith in God, but can not accept man made religion, if you read the bible and compair with the Hebrew text you would see how badly it was translated.
God is there for us all, so my question to you all is prove he isn't, and don't blame him for all things that go on in the world today because much of that is man made.

Some of the strongest minded people in the world have faith in God so how can they be weak?
And no i would not want to read the qur'an again, this is another book written by man, not God, just a man

I agree with everything you said. There is no way to prove or disprove God. It is best to accept that you will probably never convert an atheist to a believer. That is fine with me. We are all different, that makes us all unique. Personally, I believe that God doesn't care how we worship him, or even if we do not believe at all. Most of us will cross over when our bodies die.

You can not prove a negative. This is an old fallacy used by theists over and over again. Atheists do not need to prove anything - we are not the ones making the claim. As Carl Sagan says, 'Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence'
There is not one iota of evidence for the existence of god. All the theists can do is trot out tired old ploys of personal testimony and arguments from their own credulity - that Dusty guy is a perfect example - see his answer, he is saying 'I don't understand how the Earth could be here unless it was created by a god, so it must have been'
One thing that can be proved, with great ease, is that holy books like the bible and the qurran are chock full of contradictions, mistakes, logical and factual errors. So whilst we can not disprove the existance of a hypothetical god, we can easily prove that god, as described in the scriptures, is a fallacy.

I tell you what. You prove to me that there are no invisible anthropomorphic lions in my backyard who like to pounce me as a pride and force me to wear leather, and I'll prove there is no god. You go first.

Is the fact you can't do it proof that there are? ... I'll have to start hanging out in my backyard more often... hmmm...

------------

Dusty, no, I don't believe Earth, the universe, or life came into existence by 'accident'. They came into existence by perfectly calculatable (if sometimes statistical) laws of physics. No designer, just a continual trend for everything to move to its lowest energy state.

-------------

Sas W, prove to me that ghosts exist, prove to me that miracles happen (and no, allegorical stories don't cut it), prove to me that evil spirits exist and that exorcism is not simply a psychological parlor trick, prove to me there is a heaven, and prove to me there is a hell.

You can't do it, can you? The burden of proof is ALWAYS on the person who says, "This exists," never the one who says, "This does not exist." So when someone says, "Prove god exists" and you snap back, "prove he doesn't exist," you only make yourself out to be a fool of the highest caliber with no knowledge of logic and thus unable to understand a proof one way or the other even could it be done.

----------------

ManoGod, your statement boils down to, "There is proof, but you must believe first." There is no belief without proof. Quite a nice little catch 22 you've built up. Sounds pretty bogus to anyone with the slightest ability to process reason.

Carry on. I'm gonna go explore my backyard... where the heck are those darned randy invisible lions...?

All reasoned arguments rely on axioms, i.e. things which we take to be true, but which are not amenable to proof. The most obvious example of an axiom is the validity of reason itself - It is trivially obvious that we can't use a reasoned argument to prove that reason is valid, because we have to presume that reason is valid in order to make any kind of reasoned argument.

I have another axiom, which I'm sure no sane person would dispute: That the order and complexity that we see around us in the natural universe, and particularly in the intricate structure and functions of living organisms, could not possibly just exist fully formed, with no cause, no origin, no precursor of any sort. I can't *prove* that this is the case, but it seems inconceivable to me that anyone would dispute it.

So, the logical consequence of accepting this axiom is that, for the very same reason, it's not possible that the order and complexity of the universe is sourced in an intelligent deity who designed and made the universe and *himself* exists fully formed with no cause, no origin, no precursor of any sort. I don't think any reasonable person would dispute the axiom presented here, and acceptance of the axiom leads to an indisputable proof of the non-existence of an intelligent creator.

Anyone who (against all reason) asserted that the order and complexity we see in the universe *could* exist fully formed with no cause and no origin, in order thereby to save the concept of an uncaused intelligent designer, would find that they had invalidated said designer by making him redundant - i.e. if the order and complexity of the universe could just exist fully formed and uncaused then it would not need (in fact, could not possibly have) a designer to cause it to exist.

Either way, the concept of a creator is invalidated.

To my knowledge, there is no physical proof of God. A God only exists within the hearts and minds of the weak willed. If this is what works for them, then more power to them!

The quran was actually taken from the same root scriptures as the 'christian' old testament and the 'jewish' old testament.

It is available to prove God. But first you must accept that he is and that what he says is truth. Then you become born again of his spirit and then you operate the manifestations of that spirit in the senses realm.

There are nine of these listed in the Bible. They are all available today.

I know, I operate all nine.

I have proved God to myself by being a do-er of his word and not a hearer only.

I believe and I act. I speak for him at times and act for him at others. I have given my life to walking for him as he is my heavenly father and I am his son.

God refuses to prove he exists as proof negates faith. Therefore proof of his existence is actually proof of his non-existence.

QED.

And God disappeared in a puff of logic.

You are correct. There is no proof either way. But is seems that more christians - I have to use them as they are more vocal on this site - say if you read the bible that is your proof of god. It does not work that way.

I too believe in God. But when it comes to religions here is what i
have to say....

"God is too great to fit into one religion"

So whatever that u believe in continue doing so...
As long as your religion is not telling u to do bad things then it
should be alright.

Enjoy your 1 and only life...
