HIS LAST NAME IS PATTERSON i think by the time he is in school to where people will pay attention to it they wont remember scott peterson-- thanks everyone for the comments everyone i talk to face to face hates it!!

I'm so sorry but Scott Patterson is too similar to Scott Peterson. I like Ryder ok, but it's becoming a bit over used.

I agree with Jenny. You might want to think about the Scott/Lacey Peterson issue in using that name and how you will deal with the looks or issues as they might come up for a baby.
I do think though, that the name you picked sounds very nice. I'm also glad you spell it R-Y-D-E-R so it doesn't get confused with a "rider".

Nice. Yes it's similar to Scott Peterson, but it would be his middle name & you would only be calling him by his 1st name anyways. On my last child I thought about the name Lacy & then thought about Lacie Peterson & then thought who cares? I ended up having a boy, but I still like the name. Congratulations!

I do like that name. It could be worse. My husband informed me that if we ever have a boy (highly unlikely, sine I think I am done) we ARE naming him Deus Wolfgang (hubby is a huge Mozart fan and it is pronounced "Dae-us")
Ryder Scott is a good name.
