It was merely a coincidence and you know that.

Why do you always forget the unfulfilled ones?

Yes I prayed for god to not exist. And he doesn't.

The way I see it, God always answers prayers, either with "Yes", "No", or "Not right now".

Is it coincidence if your entire life is filled with coincidence? That would be too coincidental.

What if a prayer flies in the face of science, and science is wrong (even up to the end of the event), but the prayer is right?

What if, by simply looking at the sky at a certain time of day, causes a chain reaction that winds up saving someone's life... and had you have not gone outside, that person would have died. Mere coincidence?

What if, by coincidence, you are put in severe life-threatening danger, but by prayer, you are kept safe through it?

What if you are kept safe by a "no" answered prayer, because you found out later what kind of horribly bad decision it would have been if it had been a "yes".

What if someone learns a lesson (other than patience) by a "Not yet" answered prayer...

All of these, and a great many others, have I seen done through prayer. To tell me "It was merely coincidence and you know that" is as appropriate as me telling you "You woke up today by the grace of God alone, and you know that".

Just as you do not know God, I do not know coincidence.

It was no coincidence that I have not had any trouble with my knees since I have had them prayed for, after 24 years of nothing but problems, and the doctors telling me that my patellas were deteriorating, and all they could do is replacement.

It is no coincidence when I see with my own eyes peoples legs and arms grow back, quadriplegics get out of the wheelchair and walk.

People coming back to life at their funerals is no coincidence, I saw that in Brazil 3 years ago.

People who you have not talked to in 2 years s ending you money and they have no idea why, they just felt they should do it. And then it is exactly what you need for a bill you could not cover. Coincidence, I think not.

I have prayed many times and God has answered quite a few. How do i know this to be true you might ask? Well God didn't just give me what i asked for first he created a situation in my life were the thing i wished for should have been impossible for me to achieve and then answered my prayer by giving it to me so that i would know that he did it and it wasn't just blind luck. example: i was turned down for the job i wanted twice in a row and there was no chance of me getting it when out of the blue i was called and without an application(They couldnt find mine) i got the job. There are other examples but you get the point.

I don't forget the unfulfilled prayers, but I believe if you don't "Stand for Something; You could Fall for nothing."

My faith is in the fact that no matter how small science breaks down the material of life, the fact remains that there has to be something else making those smaller parts work.

Prayer works, because you want it to; so if it doesn't work you might not have believed hard enough.

I think a good majority of my prayers have been answered, at least the ones that count and are out of my hands. A good example was one friend of mine was really sick in the hospital, placed in an induced coma after some surgery for cancer. He wasn't supposed to be under as long as he had been, and the doctors weren't very optimistic about him recovering. I prayed for the whole month that he was under, sending prayer petitions to St. Perigrine (saint of cancer) and St. Raphael the Archangel. I feel that my prayers were answered because at the end of the month, he recovered and has not had any remission of the cancer since.

The un fulfilled prayer requests are the answer of no to our request. An answer to a prayer does not always mean it's going to be what we want. We are to pray for God's will for us and not our own will for us. A Christian knows the difference.

It all depends on what you expect.

If you understand that prayer is a method of understanding God's will and his plan, just as Jesus did, than effective prayer means coming to a clear understanding of what God already intends to do, and then "meshing" with it.

If you think that your prayer is likely to change the order of the universe, you might be in for a disappointment.

This is not to say that God couldn't or wouldn't agree to do that for you. He could. But I doubt that the results would warrant all the work involved.

Another way of looking at prayer would be this:

Since God already knows how each one of us will choose to respond to his grace, than he has already taken into account your actions and your prayers, or the lack of them.

If you prayed, as he knew you would, then your prayer request has already been considered, and has already been incorporated into God's plan.

If you chose not to pray, then that choice has also been duly noted and taken into account by God, as well.

If you're a percentage player, the smart play is always to pray, no matter what.

Prayer keeps us centered, by reminding us who we really are, and who God really is.

It honors him and it's good for us.

That's a win-win for everyone.

All my prayers before God have good and concrete effects.
For example, I prayed for my freedom to worship God, and no powers on earth could prevent me from doing this. I have faced discouragement, criticism, imprisonment.., but none of these hinderances could stop me from worshipping the One True God.
God even gives me more than I have asked: I met many wonderful co-religionists in my country, abroad, and unexpectedtly, surprisingly, interestingly here, on the Internet.

Never have had an unanswered prayer in 4 years of following Christ. The answer is always ..."No", "Not Now", or "Yes". I answer my kids the same way when they bring me their requests. You are making claims that are based on poor data or just plain old assuming.Peace.

Every sincere prayer of mine has been answered. Even now being answered. When you pray there is a code that you will not ask out of greed.
