It's a matter of narrow-mindedness and ignorance. Most will acknowledge that there have been and are other religions, however they are unwilling to explore them for whatever reason. Sometimes it's to avoid challenging their faith (which implies that it isn't that strong to begin with.) Other times it's because one feels that they are 100% right and there is nothing you can say or do that will prove to them otherwise.

Then there is the fear factor. Many religions preach that they are the one and only path to save their proponents from some sort of vile punishment. They are kept in this path by being told that even questioning their faith can lead them into this punishment scenario. Since there is no proof to either support or deny this claim the only logical safe road for these people is to remain complacent.

There are lots of 'religions' in the world, but there can only be one spiritual truth. The bible is the Word of God, and Jesus says that 'no-one can come to the Father but by Me', meaning that the others so called 'religions' are false, designed by the enemy to lead people away from the true God.
I hope this helps.

Everyone wants to think they're on the winning side, the one true religion that gets all sorts of goodies after you die. I do think its kind of silly when you step back and look at it objectively, but I guess if you're going to devote a lot of time and energy into a belief, you're going to believe its the best one, otherwise you'd stop practicing the religion. Its a lot easier to ignore stuff that might make you doubt your choice than it is to do a complete overhaul of your belief system.

People have to do the research on their own and find out what's right for them. Don't just take anyone at the word, you need to know something for your self. I believe if you believe in God and you truly want to get to know Him, then he will reveal Himself to you some how. I am a Christian. I believe the bible because it's the only book that has told what has happened, what's happening now, and what's going to happen and has been accurate. In Christianity, we are saved by hope/faith, but hope that is seen is not hope. Rm 8:24-25 says "for what a man see, why does he yet hope. But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it."

Usually the way they were raised, but whatever gets them through their day. Also I think people use religion to feel that they are better than the rest of the world.

Some are raised in their religion, and some just 'fall' into one, others find one with a preacher that they like the looks and/or sound of that makes them 'feel good', and a few actually study their Bibles so that they know who God is and what it is that He wants of them, THEN and only then do they seek to find a church that teaches what they have found.

For you to truly believe in something you better think it is "right" in your eyes. For it to be "truly" right might be another question totally.
When you get dressed in the morning you think what you are wearing is "right" for that day - if you didn't then you wouldn't have worn it. Other people aren't wearing the same thing - but they feel they have made a good choice too. It is all in perspective.
Let's not forget though - in terms of getting to Heaven - there is a correct way!

Religion is not God and God is NOT an Institution, I do not need a church or a religion to believe in God..for he is with me always as is my love for God...

"The Kingdom of God is inside you and all around you, not in mansions of wood and stone. Split a piece of wood and I am there -- lift a stone and you will find me. These are the hidden sayings that the living Jesus spoke. Whoever discovers the meaning of these sayings shall not taste death"...

I didn't choose Christianity, it chose me! To explain. I was not raised in any faith or taught any outside of r.e. at school. I had a few people try to tell me about Jesus but I took no notice. Then we moved and I met a Christian lady who invited me to her baptism. I went out of respect as it meant so much to her. Whilst I was at the ceremony, which was on the beach in Weymouth (uk) I simply felt the presence of God, I started crying. When the pastor asked if anyone wanted to be blessed by Jesus, raise their hand, I raised mine and was immediately flooded by a feeling of intense, pure love, and I knew that it was God. Later I found out this was baptism in the Holy spirit, you see nobody prayed over me or suggested anything to me, it was just God. I was healed of depression at that moment too.
So that's why I gave my life to Jesus, and I believe He doesn't lie, and that He said He is the only way to God because it's the truth.

Just one thing to say...

"God is too great to fit into one religion"

God created man and man created religion.

So how to tell which one is right or wrong.
As long as u are doing good, u should be alright.

I dont think God's priority is which religion u choose but which religion u follow truthfully and prove your love for him.
