And obviously the day that she lands is going to be very special.
So i want to plan a very special, romantic time together.

My plans are to just have a quiet time together, catching up...
And i want to throw abit of wine or champagne into the mix to get us into the mood for other late night activities...hehe

OK so i guess my question is : whats a nice good wine/champagne for such an occassion (im not talking about a SPECIFIC make of wine like DOM PERIGNOT or watever...)

Whats better between white or red, dry or not dry, bubbly or not bubbly etc

This is so sweet.....Group Hug!!!!

OK, so for this I would go with the Champagne, Dry is better not to sweet. Go to your local Wine/Sprite shop ask the salesmen the same question you asked here. Go for the best in your price range. Next go buy lots of candles, set them up in your flat, Ice the Champagne, A bucket will do for this. Pick her up at the airport....And Enjoy.........

Well...if you want to be ...flash...(try it before) but I would recommend "Banrock Station" red sparkling wine. It comes in a champagne like bottle, it's full bodied, deep red AND sparkling.
A SUPERB combination for a bath filled with nice smelling bubbles and lots of candles. Best thing about is the price: only £7-£8 from any good supermarket under Australian Wines! Good luck!

Have a nice bottle (or two!) of champagne. It will make the occasion special and champagne always lifts the mood.

You may find that your late night activities are brought forward before the first bottle is finished...

Afterwards you can sit around in your bathrobes, leisurely finishing off the other bottle, snuggling up, listening to records....

(Go and buy a couple of lovely fluffy white bathrobes. And some flowers. And some chocolates).

Lucky girlfriend!

She must be tired from traveling. You know well that what kind of wine she likes. So, just get that one. I think she will be more exciting to seeing you and to be with you than wine. But may be a champagne breakfast in the bedroom would be fun. Congratulations and wishing you have a good time.

Sounds like a great event

i would recomend some pink bubbles if you have the cash Louis Bouillot or Laurent-Perrier great for a picnic style meal just simple finger foods

if you working on a tighter budget some nice riesling from alsace or maybe a nice Chanti with a good pasta

life is to short to drink bad wine

enjoy

Its been six months since you saw her last, that is cause for celebration! Most go with bubbly! Strawberries are always great to throw in to the mix. Keep them both on ice until it is "right" time. Remember, she has a long flight, and may feel a bit of jet lag because of long distance travel and the time change. So, you may want to be kind to her feelings and suggest she rest, before you begin your seduction.

At any rate, once you feel the time has come enjoy the bubbly and the strawberries!

Good Luck and Have Fun

I was in the same sort of situation as you after I came back from travelling. I had been apart from my girlfriend for 4 months and found it very strange when we finally got together. My advice would be whatever you do, keep it all lighthearted to start with and then as quickly as possible get her into the bedroom. That will help you remember the good times you've had in the past.

Good luck.

Everyone has different tastes in wine, is there any way to contact her parents to find out what she likes?? If not I would suggest a Rose, rather than a white or a red, and get a nice fruity one, Blossom Hill is a great choice.

Pink Champagne is always nice or a rose wine. I wouldn't go for a dry wine or champagne unless you know that it is what she prefers.

You DON'T want us to recommend SPECIFIC labels? Well then, you already have your answer - wine or champagne.

Why don't you go to a good liquor store and talk with the proprietor? They will more than happily recommend just the right imbibing fluid - and with considerably more expertise than you'll find from us, probably - AND with the benefit of having talked with you face-to-face, so he'll have a sense of you and your experience with wines and champagnes.

Good luck in any case!
