what i,d like to know is, can the local police officers sign my work references

A police officer can sign statuary declarations,but there are plenty of justices of the peace to also do this, and any clerk of courts can.I wouldnt worry too much about work references.

i think they must know you for some time first, usually 12 or 24 months.
