It either means he is manipulative and has a good grasp of how to deal with women, or he really does need to find himself. One can not join in a union when they themself are not prepared, and would you want him to if he would anyway? People need to define themself, or concentrate on school / work / family etc sometimes, and you should care enough about him to be patient. The way to tell if he is genuine would be to tell him you love him and you can wait for him. If he tries to discourage you from waiting then this is a bs excuse to break up.
And in response to that person above me: Some me do care about more than looks. This guy is either a deep person, or a shallow manipulator. But if you always assume the person is a liar and manipulator you will miss out on the outstanding individuals.

It means that he's not ready for a relationship.
It could also mean:
1. He's not sure he wants a relationship with you
2. He could be under pressure from friends
3. He feels you two should only be friends, but can't bring himself to tell you.
4. He's interested in another girl and wants to see where that goes.
5. He also could be scared of his feelings because he's been hurt before.
The latter was true in my relationship with my boyfriend. We were madly in love but he broke up with me and used all kinds of excuses. We got back together, have been together 2 years, and now he wants to marry me.

it means that hes not ready for a serious relationship and he doesn't want to hurt you. Not because he doesn't want to have a relationship but that he knows that hes not going to make u happy because is head its not focus on that right now. He doesn't know if it will ever be.He myth have had a previous relationship with some body that didn't and well or he steal has hope because he was very involved and his seal hurt.

he's being kind and gentle but he is still dumping you.
Don't focus on only those three words i-love-you and deceive yourself.
If he wants to be with you, he will just be with you. There won't be a need for lovely-sounding reasons like " i need to find myself".
Don't let your heart be on hold cos he's not guaranteeing you anything. Don't settle for anything less than a "I want to work things out with you. YOU help ME find myself"
Else, he just means he doesn't want you in his life.

It means he's too much of a coward to tell you the truth and break up with you in a decent way. I don't know you but believe me you deserve so much more, someone who's capable of telling you the truth, someone who'll treat you right, someone who'll break up with you in a way that you won't feel guilty and definitely someone who's not a coward to do so. if he is still without a gf after breaking up with u and if u really trust him then u may give him a chance to judge him and find himself and have patience.but if u think he's lieing leave him and don't give him a chance to break ur heart once again.
