It depends on the races involved.

Asian cultures are still, for the most part, very critical of their sons/daughters dating outside of their race.

A lot of white families still aren't particularly thrilled by their kids dating blacks.

A lot of black families still seem less than thrilled to see their daughters dating white men.

However, whites or black dating hispanics seems to be a lot more acceptable, as well as whites, blacks or hispanics dating asians (from the perception of the whites, blacks and hispanics).

interracial relationships are becoming more acceptable, but they are still not normal in many peoples eyes.

Its just like everything else in the world (e.g, homsexuality, political correctness, higher fuel price. etc) People are tolerating them more, but they don't neccessarily like them.

A person may tolerate the bus being late every morning, but that does not means that he likes the bus being late, he just accepts it because there is nothing he can do about it.

Many people of both/all races still feel uncomfortable when they see an interacial couple, especially if it is a black man with a white woman. White men and Black women relationships are rarely frowned upon though. Next time you see an interracial couple (black man, white woman), dont observe them, but observe the reactions of those around you. I believe that you will be quite surprised.

Race will forever be an issue. But in 2006, some people are just more skilled at hiding their true emotions and wont bash your head in.

human beings grew brains and realized that there develop into not something incorrect with interracial relationships. it isn't like the couple is a white guy and a giraffe or a black lady and a white pot bellied pig. they are 2 those who love one yet another. What does the colour of pores and skin count number? not something. i'd not care if a lady develop into white, black, brown or blue (certain, there are some human beings in Arkansas with blue pores and skin) if she shared my values, morals and idea gadget. It it what's on the interior that counts, not the exterior. again contained in the 40's human beings were nonetheless lights crosses in the front of the houses of black human beings and the kkk develop into killing those with impunity. Mercifully, civilization advances.

there are more & more of them - but I don't think they will ever be seen as truly acceptable. they may be tolerated, but underneath it all, people of both races are grumbling to themselves about it. "why can't he find a white girl?" "Why would she lower herself by going out with him?" The prejudice is always going to be there & it's not just from whites to non-whites, either. It goes both ways, believe me. I have AA female friends who get seriously ticked off when a fine young black man chooses to date only white women - they feel like he's saying he's too good for the women of his own race. Love is supposed to be color blind, but until the rest of society is color blind as well, it won't work.

Yes, they are. My cousin is married to a Mexican- American, and her sister is engaged to an Afircan- American. Our family excepts both with open arms. They are good guys, and they care about all the right things.

it shouldn't matter to you. the main concern is how do feel about each other. don't worry about what others think. don't let society go against what you think is right.
