I wouldn't say threatened. More like they are tired of hearing about it for the 300th time. Honestly do you think you are saying anything they haven't heard before?

I'm not threatened by Christianity at all. It has a lot to do with the way the question is asked.....If some has an honest open question about it there's nothing wrong with that but when someone puts a lot of hate or blatant ignorance in the question that is meant to get a negative reaction we (non believers as we are called) put up our defenses. It's a natural reaction. It's the difference between "What is it about Christianity that has caused you to change your faith?" and "Why can't all the non-belivers accept Christ into their hearts? How stupid are they? Don't they know they're going to burn in hell...." There are always those who will give you a negative answer no matter the question. Those people just have a chip on their shoulder or they're posing as something else to either make a certain group look bad for their own twisted entertainment. Personally, I try to stay away from the instigators.
Blessed Be

I don't think "open-minded" people are threatened by Christanity. I think it is rejected because an open minded person realizes that there is more to Christianity than what meets the eye and many Christians are so closed minded that they don't want to hear anything that an open minded person may have to say!

I know what ya mean, I got banned at a Christian site for sayn something God warned us gainst in the Bible so its not just open minded ppl its Christians to.. The answer is simple though, people are sooooo afraid of confrontation and will bite ur head of for threatening the comfort zone they slipped in ages ago. Jesus believed one way and that was the only way He did things... It got Jesus crucified so people didn't like what Jesus had te say either... (2 Christians its now the most perfect example on how to lead our lives)

I believe there is a very real threat to the development of a society when they are locked inside any kind of rigid dogma. Look what happened to Europe during the Middle Ages. It took almost a thousand years for Latin Europe to overcome ignorance. The Christian control over Europe was absolute and stringent. This is the historical period when Satanism was developed as a counteraction to Christian domination.
Think about that!

It seems to me that society has changed the definition of open-mindedness. It's as if to be open-minded you must be open to everything except Christianity and everything it stands for. I don't know why people automatically reject Christianity. Maybe they have encountered someone who tried to "push it down there throats." All you can do is keep trying to witness to them, if not by conversation then by how you live your life. Let them see Jesus in you.

We're scared that you might be right. Yet we have too much intellectual pride to admit that. But it's tought to take on a faith when you're taught to look at the facts. Then if we are going to take something on faith, the reasonable thing is to choose a faith where everyone wins.
I'm agnostic so I am open minded. I think there's a lot of good in Christianity, and I believe that it is a path to knowing God. I just know that there is more than one path to the top of the mountain.

Nobody is threatened by it, and I would hope your convictions are strong enough to stand up to criticism. Being open minded doesnt mean people wont question your religion.

Because Christianity ain't for wussies, my friend.
It takes raw courage to be a practising Christian when the world seems to live for the chance to mock you, to denigrate you, even to persecute and kill you.
Those whose gumption is unequal to that are not likely to want to opt for a life that requires such courage almost on a daily basis.
If you can't take the heat, your pride insists that you tell everyone, loudly and often, it's because the kitchen stinks.

Threatened?
You mistake logic for fear, my friend.
Personally, I've been there, read the book and shrugged off that emotional crutch after personal research into the roots of christianity.
