We use Tidycat Multipal Cat formula. Don't scoop; sift it several time a week. Trust me, if I forget she lets me know.

We've used a few different brands over the last year and a half, and I, unlike some, did NOT like Arm & Hammer. It didn't clump very well and ended up leaving the rest of the litter in the box a little "muddy".
So far, we like Tidy Cats Small Spaces (keeps the smell down extremely well). When we adopted another cat last month, my husband wanted to try the Tidy Cats Crystals....those work, too. You can use them alone or mix them in with other litter.
Yesterday, I bought the Tidy Cats Crystals Blend. It claims it's a new formula with "no crumble action". The crumbling is what drives me nuts.....we shall see if this works the way it claims it will.
All in all, I'd recommend Tidy Cats. We've had good luck with the brand.
Other ways to keep it from smelling; scoop it every 24-48 hours, and change the litter completely every 1-2 weeks. We have two covered boxes for our cats, and I love the fact that charcoal filters can be placed in slots in the hoods now. It does help a little. You can also buy littercarb....I haven't tried it yet, but it would probably help.

i come across that pussycat Pine is the whole!! I easily have 3 cats and that all of them use an same muddle container. Sifting is a might want to; if finished usually, I in basic terms prefer to regulate the muddle each and every third day--if I placed new muddle out on Monday, then i regulate again on Thursday. except for sure, there has been more effective utilization. Plastic is absorbant so, another month I soak the muddle container w/ Tide and Chlorox and scrub it sturdy. i come across that there is infrequently any monitoring of the muddle round the abode as there is w/ the clay litters. And clay might want to be risky for the cats. even as they wash the clay bits are swallowed and may want to reason severe gastrointestinal complications. i'm fortunate enuf to have 2 bogs. The smallest one has develop into the "kitty bathing room". It has no bathe, only a bathtub. I disguise the drain fairly nicely and take a seat the muddle container contained in the bath. save the muddle and different cat needs lower than the sink. Have a bath curtain up and close it when I easily have organization. The container is out of sight!! Walmart has the whole value for the pussycat Pine--it really is decrease than $3.00 for a bag, while it really is really a lot $5 contained in the supermarkets. sturdy success!!!

I've used a few different brands but I always find Fresh Step or Arm & Hammer to be the best. Multiple cat formulas tend to work better than standard ones too. If you want to help keep the litter box from smelling, try giving your cats a dietary supplement that reduces urine and waste odor. Full Petential is coming out with one soon, so you might want to check out their website.

I use tidy cats multiple cats. Also, if you want to keep it from stinking, scoop it out every night. I know Arm & Hammer makes a powder you can put in the litter to freshen it up, but be careful, the cat may stop using the box if you don't mix it in with the litter. Also, try getting an additional box. My cat uses one box to pee in, and the other to poo in :)

I use World's Best Cat Litter for my six boxes. It is made from corn and therefore environmentally friendly. It's scoopable and cleans up easily.
If you put a lot of corn INTO the cat (i.e. all grocery store commercial foods are about 2/3 corn) the waste products will smell a lot because the corn is not well digested. You get more poop and it smells.

We have this stuff that looks like kitty litter but garages use it to cover and soak up oil on the garage floor. When we have to buy litter, we just get the no-name stuff as it works fine. We always sprinkle lots of baking soda in the litter too and of course change it often. We have a plug-in deodoriser near the box too for our enjoyment.

LOL--I've gone to great expense and a lot of trouble to accomplish this stupid task, but I "think" I've finally gotten it down to a science. I went out and bought one of those Litter-Maid Ultra Mega litter boxes that scoops itself. It has filters and an air cleaning system that keeps the odor under control. It requires you to use a special litter (corn based) so that it will scoop properly and not gunk up the machine. I've set it on it's own little carpet, and covered it with a privacy tent. All these things combined have really improved the situation at our house.

I agree with Katrina- Arm & Hammer did not clump well and left my kitty pan muddy. Tidy cat scoops (small spaces, multi cat, whatever) always seems to work better than any other. Scoop daily for several reasons- your cat's health, your air quality and to keep your cat from deciding that the floor is a better option than the kitty pan. Cats HATE a dirty pan.

as you didnt mention what country you live in there is no point in mentioning brand names....
silicone bead litter works best for odor control but some cats dont like it
I use NON-scented clumping litter
the best way to eliminate odor is feed a better food
the foods from grocery stores and wal marts are LOADED with filler and undigestable crap (by-products are beaks feet feathers) this stuff is hard on a kitties tummy and CORN - well cats are carnivours, of course if a food contains corn its gonna be hard on their tummies.. all this causes smellier poops
and more poops
if you feed a better food the cats actually eat less, poop less, and less odor
