My answer would be YES!! "pretending" to be the Son of God in those days was like the highest crime of all, thus having the greatest punishment.. God send His only Son 2 die a horrid death for sinners like you and me, and sending yoyour kid to suffer for other people's sins is maybe the worse suffering of all. Now Jesus did all He could, and it's up to you to thank Him and accept Him as ur Savior.. If u don't then it wasn't enough, like u said, but then u failed.. Not Jesus

Psalm 94:8
Take heed, you senseless ones among the people; you fools, when will you become wise
By your comment, I can see that you have no idea what Jesus went through for us, He did not just die on a cross, in short he was whipped 39 times with a cat of nine tails, jabbed in ribbs, spit on, had a crown of huge thorns shoved in his head, he was practically almost already dead while he was walking up the Via
Dolorosa up to where he would eventually be crusified at Golgotha on the cross. Mel Gibson's The Passion was just a glimpse at what happen, It would be impossible react something as what Jesus (Yeshua) went through. Your words "but it wasn't enough to save our sins. That I am sure of." You have no idea.

Yes.
Jesus suffered greatly because He took on the sins of the world past, present, & future so that all who believe in Him will be saved.
His suffered greatly by being seperated from God the Father for the very first time because God must be seperated from sin.
MATTHEW 27:46
46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabach'thani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?
Jesus had never before experience what is was to be seperated from God

Oh, my the suffering must have been awful. Have you watched "The Passion of the Christ"? That doesn't totally depict all the suffering, I'm sure. Yes, it was enough to save us from our sins. Jesus shed His blood for us and died for us, to save us from our sins! All we have to do is believe and accept it. God sent Jesus to the cross specifically for the reason of saving us from our sins.I hope you have accepted His forgiveness. He suffered and shed His blood and died for you. If you were the only human, He would've still died for you! Isn't that amazing love? Thank you Jesus!!! And thank you for a great question, and for giving me another reason to thank Jesus!!!

Just try to imagine...
How it would feel to have your elbow bones going out of joints, your chest under such a pressure that every breath causes pain and tears your lungs, and then your heart would also fail at some point... The obvious - just think of the nails piercing your hands and feet.
Once during a youth retreat, the organizers made us nail a paper with a list of our sins to a wooden cross. I caused God all that pain. He went on the cross for me, to make it possible for me to reconcile with God. He did it because he loved me. He loves you too. And His love for you had held Him there.

PPS: to be more specific - Crucifiction is still considered to be the most cruel types of exectutions. Even the word excruciating used to describe the agony of torture originated from the cross. Exhaustion, asphyxia, dehydration, and congestive heart failure were some of the factors that lead to death from the crucifiction. Hanging on the cross would cause a lot of injuries (bones out of joints, wounds from nails, torn organ-tissues).

Considering the total of number of people crucified throughout history, it wasn't one of the most painful...
Crucifixion can be made more painful by:
- Breaking the legs of the victim.
- Turning the cross upside down
- Placing the cross in an arena surrounded by hungry animals

He bled from every pore of his body in the Garden of Gethsemane. That pain and anguish came back when he was on the cross. He completed fully, the atonement...the mission he was foreordained to complete. How grateful I am for it too. We'd be lost without Jesus Christ, our Heavenly Father's Only Begotten Son.

He didnt die on a cross. He died on an upright stake. That's a big misconseption.
Yes, he did suffer. Just read any one of the gosspil accounts (Matthew, Mark, Luke or John). He suffered greatly to redeam mankind.

He said "it is finished" finished implies that the task is complete. He suffered and endured the pain of death for our sins, it was enough.
