If I were to tick the box for a second job on my P46, how much tax will I be paying on that job?

Basic rate - 22%

You will have to pay 22% on the total gross pay ( rounded down to the nearest pound).

If you dont use all your allowance on your main jon ( currently £5035 for average person) you could ask the Inland Revenue to split your tax allowance.

Be aware though, if you are a higher earner ( taxable earnings over £33,300 per year), the Inland Revenus can change your secong job so as you pay 40% tax or ask you to pay the difference back when they do the end of year returns.

Same as the rate you are paying unless you go up a level
