Most professionals will use a shaft that would be 'extra stiff' compared to what you'll see in retail stores. And I can almost guarantee that a stiff shaft is too stiff for most golfers. I'm a 12 handicap and use regular flex shafts.

Regular and stiff are meaningless terms. There is no industry standards. One companys senior or ladies stiffness might be anothers X-stiff so no one can answer your question.

You just need the correct stiffness for your swing speed.

Maybe,Golfers without that really fast swing speed,Fred Funk for example might use a more flexible club!

jack the golden bear has played regular for years. watch his shaft bend when he swings and he doesnt swing hard.

go with the regular - if you are in between, go for the reg flex - that way you won't have to swing as hard to achieve better results
